Business Plans
There is a saying “Fail to prepare and you prepare to fail”. How true this is? We at Harris Bassett believe that in order to succeed every business should have a business plan. In reality very few businesses actually do have a plan and consequently don’t achieve their maximum potential.
On many occasions the excuse that the future cannot be predicted with any certainty is used to put off preparing any forecasts or targets. However, if a business doesn’t know where it wants to get to then it has little chance of identifying the steps that need to be taken to get there. The business plan can be as simple or as detailed as its purpose dictates. Whether it be for internal management, in respect of a new project, or the raising of additional funding.
We have vast experience of what makes a business successful and can translate this, using our powerful software, into a meaningful plan incorporating, at a minimum, forecast Profit and Loss Accounts, Balance Sheets and Cash Flows. The more comprehensive plan might include sections such as:
- Summary
- Background
- Product or service
- Management and personnel
- Markets and marketing
- Manufacturing process
- Financial information
- Risk factors and rewards (SWOT analysis)
- Timescales and benchmarks
